All the information about the Thermal Social Bonus or Natural Gas Social Bonus. Find out how to request it, who can request it and how much money it means depending on the area where you live and the type of consumer you are.
What is the Thermal Social Bonus or natural gas social bonus?
The Thermal Social Bonus is an aid launched by the government in October 2018 with the aim of alleviating energy poverty and protecting the most vulnerable consumers.
It is an aid for families with fewer resources that is charged during the first quarter of the year, and that covers the expenses caused by the use of heating, hot water and cooking.
The Thermal Social Bonus is granted to all people who have contracted the PVPC electricity rate with a power lower than 10 kilowatts (kW) and are covered by the Electric Social Bonus.
The amount to be received by the beneficiaries will depend on the following factors:
Of the help received with the Electric Social Bonus.
From the geographical area of the country in which it is requested. Those who live in the coldest areas have priority, ahead of those who live in the warmer ones.
From the item allocated for this in the General State Budgets.
How to apply for the social gas bonus?
The Thermal Social Bonus is automatically awarded to those who also receive aid for light. Therefore, it is not necessary for the consumer to present any type of documentation to benefit from it.
In the case of the Electric Social Bond, customers do have to present a series of documents to the Reference Marketer. On the contrary, in the case of the gas voucher, it is the marketers themselves that send the list of vulnerable consumers to the Autonomous Communities.
The companies will send a notification to all those customers who already have the social bonus of light to inform them that they are entitled to the social thermal bonus.
What requirements are necessary to receive the Thermal Social Bonus?
The only requirement to receive the Social Bonus for gas is to also be a beneficiary of the Social Electric Bonus. To be able to request the latter, the consumer must meet any of the following conditions:
Have a low income level, between € 7,520 and € 18,799 per year, depending on the number of children you have
Be a pensioner and receive the minimum benefit, that is, between € 8,386 and € 11,701 per year.
Being a large family.
It is essential to have contracted the PVPC electricity rate to be able to benefit from the Natural Gas Social Bonus. We will tell you how to contract the PVPC regulated rate.
However, it should be noted that depending on the particular situation of each consumer, they will receive a different amount. In addition, the Electric Social Bonus stipulates that there are three types of consumers who can collect this help:

Severe vulnerable consumers. They must receive an annual income less than or equal to 50% of the established thresholds to be considered vulnerable consumers.
