ENERGY CONCEPTS

ELECTRIC RATE

It is the price we have to pay for the electricity we consume. The final price of the electricity tariff starts from the basic billing, to which are added surcharges or discounts, tariff complements, equipment rental and taxes.

POWER TERM

The power term is the price paid for the contracted power. The contracting unit is the kW and a fixed amount is paid per month for each kW contracted. Calculate: number of kW x price of kW.

ENERGY TERM

The energy term is a variable quantity and depends on the amount of energy we consume during a period of time. It is measured in kW.
Calculate: number of kWh x kWh price.

ENERGY CONCEPTS CONTRACTED POWER

The contracted power is a reserve of consumption capacity that is made within the electrical system. A fixed price is paid for the reservation.

POWER CONTROL SWITCH (ICP):

It is installed in homes and small businesses with power less than 15 kW and does not allow to consume more kW than contracted.

MAXIMETER:

It is installed in businesses and companies that contract more than 15 kW and allows to consume more power than the contracted one. An extra cost is paid if this amount is exceeded.

• ENERGY CONCEPTS REACTIVE ENERGY

Reactive energy is a type of electrical energy that some electrical equipment absorb from the network but then return it so it does not involve consumption, although it is generated and transported.

It causes an overload in lines, transformers and generators, without producing performance. It is for them that it is recorded in the invoice in kVArh.

"It is the energy that the customer pays for but does not consume ¨

ENERGY CONCEPTS

TIME DISCRIMINATION

The consumption of electrical energy is not uniform
Throughout the day, there are peak hours (maximum demand) and minimum demand throughout the night. In billing, time is taken into account in order to make better use of electricity production and limit peak hours.

ENERGY CONCEPTS SEASONALITY

10% discount on the energy term during the low season (May, June, August and September) and a 10% surcharge during the high season (January, February, November and December).

ENERGY CONCEPTS UNINTERRUPTABLE

Supplement that is applied to large subscribers in high voltage rates. The customer agrees for 5 years to reduce their demand and not exceed a pre-established power in the agreed periods in exchange for a discount on basic billing.

ENERGY CONCEPTS POWER TOLL OR ACCESS RATE

The power toll is a regulated part of the bill intended to cover the fixed costs generated by the system. It is established quarterly by the government and has two components: a fixed one based on the contracted power and a variable component based on consumption.

ENERGY CONCEPTS POWER OPTIMIZATION

There are empirical methods that allow calculating the power optimization based on real data measured over a long period of time, generally one year.
The study must have the following instructions:
Make the year of study a typical year - normal production
That during the period there have been no increases or decreases in production that have not caused the disappearance or incorporation of consumer machinery.
It is optimized from 15 kW. The reason is the installation of a maximeter (records the peaks).

• ENERGY CONCEPTS RATES

There are three types of rates:

FLAT RATE
Valid rate for customers whose consumption is very stable.
The customer pays a fixed amount each month. To determine the amount, a review of the previous year is carried out.
If there is an excess of consumption over the contracted quantity, it will be invoiced at the price agreed with the marketer.

FIXED RATE

The customer agrees to a fixed price per kW for a specified period of time (usually one year).
It is the rate with which greater discounts can be made to the customer in power or consumption.
Due to the discount offered by the marketers, they penalize the client if he changes company before the established period of time.

INDEXED

Contracting at indexed prices consists of paying a variable price for the electricity consumed based on the purchase price of the energy in the wholesale market.
It is not very frequent due to lack of information, but it represents great savings.

WHAT WE MUST IDENTIFY ON A SUPPLYING COMPANY INVOICE

It appears on the left side or at the bottom of the invoice.
Depending on whether it is a last resort trading company or a free market trading company, we will know if the customer has TUR rights.

CONTRACTED POWER / CONTRACTED GAS RATE

In electricity determine the power:

Less than 3kW (Do not bid)
Between 3kW and 10kW.
Between 10 kW
15 kW
Greater than 15 kW

In gas determine the rate:

T1 (free market3.1)
T2 (free market 3.2)
T3 (free market3.3)
T4 (free market3.4)

BILLED POWER

Billing will depend on whether the customer has an ICP (mode 1) or a maximeter (mode 2) installed.

REACTIVE ENERGY

It appears in supplies greater than 10 kW and as long as the customer has the meter installed.
It applies to all periods except the valley.
It is billed if it exceeds 33% reactive energy consumption.
If it exceeds € 50 per month battery capacitor
Esme Energy provides: € 1000 amortizable 24 months.

INVOICE PERIOD

In the event that the client provides us with the invoice for the previous semester at the prices that appear on the competition's invoice, the increase in tolls must be added to the current date plus all administrative taxes.

ELECTRIC BILL
5 STEPS TO VIEW A CONTRACT

1. Identify the supply data:
2. Type of RATE
3. POWER type
4. Identify the KW POWER price (P1, P2, P3)
5. Identify the KW ENERGY price (P1, P2, P3)
6. Compare BEST OFFER
5. Analyze MAXIMETERS
FROM INVOICE

ANALYZE MAXIMETERS - POWER OPTIMIZATION

90% of the contracts must be accompanied by a power optimization.
Analyze the invoice and the maximeters of the last 12 real months
Check if the maximum points reach the contracted power.
Customer invoices can be analyzed on the web.

There are 3 ways to lower the power:
Lower the three periods at the same time (not recommended because it has a cost for the client)
Lower only period P1 and P2 (most recommended option, the power can be increased later without additional costs)
Lower P3 below P1 or P2 (companies that do not have work at night, unusual)
REMEMBER:
A maximum of 50% of the previously contracted power can be lowered
The customer can consume up to 105% of power, from that moment each kW is charged for 3.

THE CONTRACTS

You need a gas bill and an electricity bill with a maximum age of 3 months.

Use clear and capital letters.
Copy the data exactly as in the invoice.
The CUPS are 16 numbers and 4 letters.
Distinguish between supply address and correspondence address.
It is mandatory to include a fixed contact telephone number, a mobile phone and an email.
The contract signature must be that of the holder of the supply.

You can only use a carbonless contract in the DUALS that the holder is the same in the two supplies.
A copy of the contract and the general contracting conditions for electricity and / or gas must be delivered to the client.
The owner changes are made once the client has received the first invoice.

INDEXED

Indexed price is the best option for:

Clients who have an annual consumption of more than 30,000 kWh.
Clients with a price lower than the best fixed offer of the marketers (minimum 20,000 kW of annual consumption).
Buying at indexed price is buying at manufacturing price.
The customer saves the business margin.
The annual indexed price is always lower than the annual fixed price.
Estimated savings are obtained from the difference between fixed and indexed prices.
