The electrical bulletin is the document that officially certifies the good condition and fitness of our electrical installation to receive an electrical supply. It is issued by an installation company or a licensed electrician. The blue bulletin is the complementary document that guarantees that the installation complies with the safety requirements to receive this supply. The latter is only necessary for users residing in Catalonia. Know the prices and all the necessary information here.

What is the Electric Bulletin?

The Electrical Bulletin or the Electrical Installations Certificate (CIE) is the document that certifies that an electrical installation meets the requirements and is suitable for supply. It is valid for 20 years, and once the term is over, the user must renew it.

The Electric Bulletin, also known as the white bulletin, is mandatory, and may be requested from the user whenever any of the following situations occurs:

When you want to discharge the light for the first time.
To increase the contracted electrical power supported by the electrical installation.
Installation change: From single-phase to three-phase, or vice versa
Bulletin expiration (expires every 20 years)

Who can sign an electric newsletter?

The electrical bulletin is certified by an authorized electrician or accredited installation company (associated or not with our distributor) who will analyze the different characteristics of
installation to verify that it complies with current regulations. For this, the user has two options: it can be requested from the distributor in the area or hire an electrician
specialized on our own. The essential thing is that it is authorized and provides the official quality seal to the newsletter.

The following aspects will be detailed in it:

Owner data
Supply point address
Distribution company to which the client belongs
Authorized installation company or authorized electrician
Contracted power and maximum allowable power
Detailed map of the different components of the installation
Check measurements
Data and signature of the technician who certifies and issues the bulletin

Electric bulletin price

The price of the electric bulletin is not regulated by the state, so it will vary depending on the following factors:

Authorized installation company: The price of issuing the CIE depends on each installer, taking into account the workforce, the preparation of the bulletin and its processing.
Characteristics of the electrical installation: The price of the electrical bulletin will also depend on the dimensions of the house and the type of installation.
Autonomous Community: The CCAA require the payment of fees that range between € 30-40.

Taking these 3 factors into account, the price of the electric bulletin can range from € 150 to € 500, but the average price is around € 150.

As there is so much competition and there is no price regulation, we recommend that the user who wants to request it previously make a comparison between the specialized professionals in their area, and decide based on their needs.

How long does it take for the electrical bulletin to be issued?

There are no deadlines for the issuance of the electrical bulletin. There are some companies and authorized electricians that can issue it at the moment, and others that can take several days, as it will depend on the company that performs it. If the user wants to obtain it through his distributor, this will be the one that informs him of the deadlines.

Once the user has the CIE and has sent it to their distributor for acceptance and to proceed with the relevant procedure, the deadline for obtaining a response may be up to one week.

What is the Blue Bulletin?

The Blue Bulletin or the Electrical Installations Recognition Bulletin (BRIE) is a necessary document andComplementary to the exclusive electrical bulletin for users residing in Catalonia. The creation of this document in 2014 is a measure imposed by the Generalitat de Catalunya to guarantee the maintenance and good condition of the electrical installations in its provinces.

To request it, the same thing happens as with the electrical bulletin, the user can contact his distributor and have it send him a specialized installation company, or he can get it on his own, contacting any electrician or certified company in his geographical area.

The blue bulletin is valid for 6 months, and will be requested by its distributor to those users who are going to carry out any of the following steps, or one of these cases is going to occur:

Register the electricity in new construction properties
Register the electricity in second occupation properties
Increase in electrical power when it is greater than the withstand power indicated in the electrical bulletin
Expiry of the electrical bulletin

The blue bulletin will be mandatory provided that one of the above cases occurs and the power contracted in the property is less than 20 kW

How much does the blue newsletter cost?

As with the electrical bulletin, the price of the blue bulletin is not regulated by any government agency, so the cost of issuing it will depend on factors such as the size and condition of the installation and the cost of labor involved. Establish the installation company or the authorized electrician to do it. Taking these factors into account, the price of the blue bulletin is between € 40 and € 100.

Since there are a large number of companies and specialists that are dedicated to this and that the price is not regulated, it is recommended to previously carry out a comparative study of the different options that the user has in their geographical area, and decide based on the results and your needs.

What is the deadline for issuing the blue bulletin?

The term it takes to issue the BRIE is not stipulated, as it will depend on the installation company. It is advisable to carry out a comparison between the different specialized installers in the area, and decide based on price and experience in the sector.
